What I Love About This Avocado Deviled Eggs Recipe
My avocado deviled eggs are so delish! Here’s why you won’t go wrong making these low carb snacks the next time you entertain:- They are soooo savory and creamy that you’ll not even miss the mayo! What mayo?!
- Easy prep! You can make the hard boiled eggs ahead of time and whip up the guac mixture right before guests come over. They can be prepared a few days in advance too!
- They’re fast! You can boil, chill, peel, mash and garnish the eggs in just a little over 30 minutes!
- Cater these avocado deviled eggs to be spicy, traditional, smoked, etc. Your flavor profile options are endless!
- While some people may think of deviled eggs as a spring seasonal appetizer, I think they’re meant to be enjoyed year round! Everybody loves when the deviled eggs are making their rounds at a party!

Recipe Notes
Here is everything you need to know to make these as soon as possible!Ingredient Notes
Typically, deviled eggs are packed with a fat bomb of mayonnaise and oil. Just one tablespoon of mayo has 100 calories.A traditional recipe calls for anywhere between 3 tablespoons of mayo to ½ cup! That’s a whopping 300 to 800 extra calories just in the mayo!
Avocados – Subbing out the mayo for an extra dose of the healthy fats in avocados, is a no-brainer for me because I’m a HUGE fan of ‘cados. I love the way they taste and they are a nutrient superstar, packing in nearly 20 vitamins and minerals per serving, including potassium, lutein and folate.
I personally cannot taste the avocado flavor at all either!
Opt for haas avocados, as they’re significantly creamier than Florida!
Eggs – a few pro tips and tricks:
- Hard boil eggs that’re older (rather than fresh eggs), they will be easier to peel.
- If you have an Instant Pot, they make the BEST, easiest to peel eggs EVER in just 15 minutes! 5 minutes to come to heat, 5 minutes to cook, 5 minutes in an ice bath.
- Egg peel hack: Crack both the top and bottom of the egg, then roll it with your hand on the counter or a plate, gently applying pressure. Your egg will peel apart easily!

Storing Tips
Be sure to store any leftovers (if you have any!) in the fridge. They’ll be good in there for a couple of days but they are best when made fresh!Squeeze some extra lime juice on top to help prevent the avocado from browning.
Can You Freeze Them?
Hard boiled eggs don’t freeze well, I wouldn’t recommend it. If you still want to eat them but want to repurpose the avocado deviled eggs, simply chop them up into a deviled egg salad sandwich with lettuce, extra dill and quality bread. Tadaaaa, lunch in an instant from leftovers!
Meal Prepping Tips
Don’t feel like rushing around like a crazy person before a party? Unfortunately, this isn’t the BEST recipe to make ahead, as we all know, avocados brown when exposed to air.So, the best way to prep this recipe is to pre-boil the eggs — They’ll be good for up to a week in the fridge.
If you do make the filling ahead of time, you can cut down on browning by squeezing lime juice over the top and keeping your deviled eggs in an airtight container, it won’t completely stop browning, but it’ll help!

Guacamole Deviled Eggs Recipe Variations
Here are a few healthy recipes variations you may consider when whipping up a batch:What Else Can I Use For Deviled Eggs Without Mayo?
Not a fan of mayo, but unsure about avocados too? Try swapping mayo (or avocado in this case) with low carb Greek yogurt — I can’t taste the difference!
What Toppings I Can Add?
Garnishes are EVERYTHING! Not only do they give your avocado deviled eggs some flavaaaa, they also make them look mouthwateringly appetizing!A couple of crowd faves: deviled eggs with relish, or deviled eggs with bacon.
Trying to keep it vegetarian? Add radishes, chives, dill, cilantro or add any other herbs for fun flavors and pretty aesthetics!
Can I Grill These?
Absolutely! Make these smoked deviled eggs by popping them on the grill with their shells on, placed directly on the grill grates. Let them cook at 325F for about 30 minutes.Submerge them in an ice bath afterwards to stop them from continuing to cook. Mix with whatever filling you choose.

How Can I Make These Deviled Eggs Spicy?
I like me some spice, and there’s nothing better than spicy deviled eggs! Jalapeno deviled eggs are a personal fave!Simply add any of the following to turn up the HEAT or create your own signature blends:
- Use ground spices like paprika, chili flakes or Cajun spices
- Sauces: Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, Sriracha, Chalupa
- Fresh peppers: jalapeños, poblano, serano, habanero
- Asian flavors: kimchi, wasabi

These deviled eggs are best enjoyed soon after making them as they will brown in the fridge. To slow down the browning, squeeze extra lime juice over the top of the filling and store in an airtight container.
